Lil Miquela, computer-generated Instagram model and occasional music artist, has appeared on the cover of Wonderland Magazine, collaborated with Prada and Balmain, and is often seen 'out and about' in Los Angeles with the likes of Diplo and Nile Rogers – an impressive list of accomplishments for someone who’s only 19, and even more impressively, not technically real.

Amassing more than a million followers within two years of her digital emergence, the idea of a 'sentient digital art project' portraying the lifestyle of an Instagram it-girl can be difficult to understand. Regularly posting pictures with real models and other celebrities in real locations, many have hailed her as the 'future' of social media influencing, and the amount of brands queuing up to work with and interview her stand to agree.
